At Knob Hill Farm we raise our animals with a dedicated appreciation and love for our land and community. By embracing the use of our animal fats in skincare products we can reduce our carbon footprint, utilize by-products, and support our local economy.
Our soap is handmade in small batches using the lard and tallow that we carefully render from our pasture raised pigs and cows. It’s a soft bar with a rich lather, earthy and mild, making it the perfect soap for sensitive skin.
Why tallow & lard?
Both tallow and lard are rich in omega 3s and vitamins A, and E. Making them ideal products to clean, nourish, and moisturize our skin. Studies have shown that tallow helps promote skin cell regeneration, and both tallow and lard have been shown to promote collagen production and reduce inflammation. The essential fatty acids in both tallow and lard help keep our skin healthy and hydrated acting as a natural sealant that locks moisture into the skin, reducing dryness and improving our protective skin barrier.
